Breaded Fried Pork Chops

Breaded fried pork chops

These breaded fried pork chops are golden and crunchy outside, juicy inside, and made for comfort-food sides like mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, or collard greens.

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Pat pork chops dry.
  2. Season flour with seasoned salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Whisk eggs and milk in a shallow bowl.
  4. Dredge pork in flour, dip in egg, then coat in breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Fry pork chops until golden and cooked to 145 degrees F, about 4 to 6 minutes per side depending on thickness.
  7. Rest 5 minutes before serving.

Mood Messy Tips

  • Do not crank the heat too high or the coating browns before the pork cooks.
  • Thin chops cook faster and stay crispier.
  • Resting keeps the juices in the meat.
